The Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program (CLSP) is one of the disciplines of College of Applied Medical Sciences in Jeddah (COAMS-J). Our CLSP provides a unique study curriculum that is based on lectures, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), practical laboratory sessions in in-house, Hospital and research laboratories.
The Department laboratories are equipped with state of arts instruments for conducting accurate biomedical tests in the various fields of clinical laboratory sciences; including clinical chemistry/biochemistry, hematology, immunology, blood banking, microbiology, parasitology, molecular biology, genetics and cytogenetics.
The program was created specifically to educate and equip tomorrow’s laboratory technologists with the knowledge, attitude, and skills necessary to produce quality laboratory results.
Laboratory technologists in our CLSP are trained to use advanced biomedical instruments and methods requiring highly professional skills. They perform tests on patient’s blood, body fluids, and tissue specimens. In addition, our students must participate in the various biochemical research projects conducted by the faculties in the Departmental laboratories, hospital laboratories and the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah.
